About Us
Groep-één is the largest student party in the University Council (UC) of the TU/e. Groep-één consists of two parts that work together:
The Fraction
Every year, all students of the TU/e can vote for the student members of the University Council, which is the highest decision-making organ within the university. Based on the votes, the 9 seats of the council are distributed among Groep-één, DAS and ONS. The students that take place in the UC on behalf of Groep-één make up the faction of Groep-één.
The Groep-één faction works hard every week to represent all TU/e students in the council. By being a member of the UC, these students have the largest influence on TU/e politics and policies. They participate in UC meetings, read policies and regulations, and use your input and feedback to improve the TU/e by changing the existing regulations and policies for the better of the TU/e community. The topics range from educational policies to campus matters and IT systems. Additionally, the fraction members lead initiatives that help the TU/e become better and better. The fraction members are appointed part time.

The Association
The Groep-één association consists of all the wonderful members that feel connected with our vision. The association is intended to bring this community of students together, so that they can voice their opinions and share their experiences. This valuable feedback is then taken up by the fraction and processed in their work in the UC. The association is run by the board.
The members are frequently informed about University Council and TU/e-wide matters. The core group sessions are an excellent example of regular events where members can voice their opinion or share their experiences, so that the faction can consider this feedback during the UC-meetings. Everyone can become a member for free, without responsibilities.
However, it is also possible to actively help out in the association! Groep-één has several committees and portfolios that you can join. The former take care of the visibility and promotion of the party, whereas the latter dive deeply into the policy matters that the faction is concerned with.
The board is always looking for enthusiastic students who are interested in joining a committee or portfolio. You can make a great difference for Groep-één by helping out.
